From the first time that the TAMGA team met Jean and William from Threads of Life (TOL), we were mesmerized by their textiles, story and mission - and we haven’t stopped learning since. TOL is a fair trade business that works with culture and conservation to alleviate poverty in rural Indonesia. The heirloom-quality textiles they commission are made with local materials and natural dyes to a standard usually seen only in museums. TOL works directly with over 1,000 women on 11 islands across Indonesia, helping weavers to form independent cooperatives, to recover the skills of their ancestors, to manage their resources sustainably, and to express their culture identity while building their financial security. Our Premium line in the 'Dreamweaver' collection is graced by truly special textiles from weavers on the remote island of Savu, brought to us by Threads of Life. If you’re ever in Ubud, check out their gallery- you won’t regret it!
